Hi Steve, thanks for the vid very informative and led me to purchasing the
product. My only question is why are you formatting the hardrive? is there
    a specific reason for this?

  4. shempone says

@Gerrybhoy1947 what type of format is your HD on? MS? or OS ? It can make a
difference as some don’t allow large file types

Purchased a 2tb version of this from Amazon thats due for delivery soon.
Can you tell me, have you had any issues at all with the device since
making this video? While most reviews on Amazon praise this product, a
select few have complained that theirs have malfunctioned after several
months. Is yours still working 100%

A friend of mine gave me his old Transcend Storejet 1TB without any
installation softeware. Well, I can’t access it. It shows up under devices
but doesn’t show up in the “computer” window where my other USB drive
appears.I’m using windows 7. It says drivers are updated, right clicking
brings up properties, shows device working properly, I just can’t access
the drive. There are no options for formatting etc. I’ve tried to access
the drive on two other computers with no luck…hmm?

Sir just asking questions that i cant find on google.
I have the same external hard drive like yours, and im facing problems.

First, my external hdd displays on my computer as “LOCAL DISK”. As far as i
know, it should be “REMOVABLE STORAGE”.
Second, what is its file system format when 1st time of use? is it FAT32 or
    NTFS?

I can copy and paste files to it using my phone(USB OTG) when i first time
used it. But when it suddenly becomes “RAW”, i just recover my files and
formatted it. I successfully reformatted but I cant transfer “LARGE” files
anymore, like 1gb movie, it will copy but lately it will show Input-Output
error. Write failed. EIO (I/O error) “The file ‘Name of File’ cannot be
    pasted into Local files.”

But when i use my 16gb flashdrive, i can transfer that movie completely.

  9. Elfaro says

Why do you reformat it straight out of the box? Just curious, thinking to
buy and want as much info as possible. Thanks :)

  10. Courtney Clark says

Do you ever work directly off of this external hard drive? If so, do you
notice a big difference in speed between it and your mac hard drive?

  11. IGarrettI says

Is it the best one for the price? There are others for 50 pounds (im
looking for a cheap one) ones, but which one is the best?

  12. Tristan Raymundo says

transcend is my first choice when it comes to HDD external the price fairly
    affordable and it’s durable

  13. Kabir Parker says

Thank you!!!! I plugged my hard drive into my MacBook, and it wouldn’t
work. I had no idea what to do. Thanks to this video it is working now,
keep up the good work :) )
